Webinar: OLED Technology for Lighting Manufacture

In addition to the breakthrough use of Organic Light Emitting Diode (OLED) technology in displays, there is promising potential for its use in lighting. Leading German and Japanese companies and researchers have joined forces in the LAOLA research project to develop the use of ultra-thin flexible glass as a substrate and encapsulation material in roll-to-roll technology for this purpose.

The webinar will introduce the basics of OLED for lighting, discuss the choice for the right substrate and encapsulation material as well as the current status of roll-to-roll processing. Selected results from the LAOLA project will be presented. A special focus lies in the challenge to separate the lighting modules out from the roll by the use of a special laser cutting technology developed in the project.

This AILU webinar, sponsored by 3D-Micromac AG, will enable the audience to learn more about the application, the technology behind it and the unique challenges overcome.
